Usually the need for a new extension housing means that something went horribly wrong on the trail and you are left rebuilding your Jeeps transfer case. The Crown Automotive Rear Extension Housing is for the NP231 transfer cases and houses the rear slip yoke, seal and bushing. When the extension is cracked by the force of the drive shaft collapsing, the yoke cannot stay straight and you will lose your lubrication.
