This is a replacement casting for the stock Chevy / GM / Muncie SM465 Manual 4 Wheel Drive GM 1969-1982 transmission adapter. The GM casting was a cast iron adapter that was common to breaking the foot of the casting. The new adapter is manufactured from high quality cast aluminum, This high quality casting is stronger than the stock and is a direct replacement. The casting comes with a new SM465 gasket and fasteners to adapt to a Chevy / GM New Process 205 (10 Spline Input) transfercase. Replaces GM adapters 15596724 and 6271549
