This adapter plate assembly is used to adapt a Ford 302 / 5.0L to the Jeep AX15 5 speed transmission. The adapter plate is .750" in length and is manufactured from 356-T6 heat treated aluminum alloy. Included in the adapter plate kit you will receive an adapter plate, pilot bushing for both early & late AX15, brass hydraulic fitting, retainer seal, 4.848" bearing retainer, pilot bushing, fastening hardware, and adapter instructions.

The overall transmission case length is 24.00". The output shaft is 23 spline and protrudes approx .400". AX15 from 1989-93 used an internal release bearing, while 1997-99 AX15 were switched to the external slave cylinder. We have seen both release systems used between 1994-96. The AX15 is very capable of handling the horsepower and torque of a V8 engine. The input shaft length is 7-1/2" and has a spline dimension of 1-1/8", 10 spline, which is same as Chevy. The pilot tip diameter is .590" on1989-96 models and .750" on 1997-99 models.
